The artist Dineke Beereboom earned her Ubbo Emmius teaching degree in Groningen, the Netherlands; her final project consisted of steel and wax sculptures. The artist now divides her time between Winschoten, the Netherlands; Normandy, France; and Italy. She makes commissioned works for individuals and organizations, as well as her own creative sculptures. She primarily works in bronze, but also produces work in marble and in a combination of granite and bronze. Dineke Beereboom has been working and exhibiting for years in both France and the Netherlands. Her work is on permanent exhibit at the Marten Randa Gallery.

Her work focuses on the human figure. Her sculptures lend expression to her experiences traveling through West Africa and meeting the people there, who live in arcane alliance with both nature and religion. She gives shape to the mysterious, the magical, but also the fragile aspects of people within society. Human sensuality, vitality, and vigor always have a strong presence in her sculptures. Her designs are dynamic. In her bronze figures, she combines a fragile interplay of lines with abstract forms.

She is preparing for a cooperative international project involving French and Dutch artists of various disciplines, which culminates in 2004 when they will come together in the age-old Chateau d'Eau in the French town of Bourges.

International sculpture project
In 2001, Dineke Beereboom took part in an international sculpture project in Burkina Faso, West Africa, where she worked with sculptors from Africa, America, and Europe. She spent 2 months creating a life-size sculpture of a woman in bronze and granite.
